Areas embargoed by IBAMA, Brazil’s federal environmental agency, following an infraction — most often illegal deforestation. Published only as a shapefile with no searchable per-company interface anywhere; this is the same register, searchable by company.
How to read this, and what we leave out
We publish businesses, not individuals. 67,731 of the 87,727 current entries are natural persons identified by CPF rather than registered businesses. They are counted in the totals above, because leaving them out would misrepresent the size of the register — but we do not republish their names or their tax numbers. The official source remains public for anyone who needs it.
What a listing does not prove: An embargo names an area and a responsible party; it is not by itself a finding about every product a company sells. About 10% of records carry no usable CNPJ or CPF and cannot be matched to a company by identifier alone.
